Surely one of the best talents in the music biz. I am continually struck by how closely he sounds to McCartney in this! When I was lucky and blessed enough to experience Melbourne and all Victoria has to offer a 2nd time, my mates Geoff and Vicki Winter reminded me that this song is about the weather they have there; within the hour, it went from balmy (it was late November) to chilly and back again; as wild as the swings we have here in Boulder, for sure! Vicki's sister's husband went to school with Nick Seymour, who was Best Man at their wedding. I got to steep myself in lore of a favorite band with the best mates ever, in one of Earth's best realms...
to me this was a song about manic depression. how your mood can change by the hour. it's seemed more profound and insightful than if it was simply on the nose about weather. it's good how songs reach out to us in different ways
It's from Dr. Who, which was revived by the BBC in 2005. "Rose" was the travelling companion to the Doctor in the initial seasons of the rebooted series. The actors for the Doctor and for his/her companion change from time to time, and this photo is from one of the David Tennant/Billie Piper years.
and hearing this song on what is Bille Piper's birthday. 22nd Sept.

it's a very different world :)
still a wonderful song - a band at their height and one of the last great rock and roll superstar lead singers
