Loved this song from the first time I heard it, and so I gave 1972 a spin at the record store to see how the rest of the album was. Was not as impressed by the balance of tunes on it. Too bad--if the rest was this innovative, he'd have a hot property there... Did I judge it too quickly? Has any one out there heard more off of this disk that is also good?
I love the album..one of my favorites of 2003.

I used to call Crowded House my guilty pleasure- but then I stopped feeling guilty, and continued to listen to Crowded House.

Never feel guilty for listening to the Finn brothers!

Never heard a song with the word 'levee' in it that I liked yet.
Whoa, not even "When The Levee Breaks" by Led Zep?

One of my alltime favorite FM songs. Loved the version on "The Dance," and happy to hear a studio version on "Say You Will, though the live one is supreme.

Ms. Cassidy made every song her own, not unlike Sinatra. Her voice soars and her spirit lives on.

Hiatt can TOO sing..see him in concert with the Goners, they will rock your socks off. This is not the best song to judge him from....not one of his best, that's for sure.

Listening via Alexa and caught this song today. SO GOOD to hear Hiatt and one of my favorites of his.

I never get tired of hearing Josh Rouse. Never.

My sister cracked me up when she admitted she thought Bowie was singing,"Fame. F**ing A, F***ing A, F***ing A." One of my favorite misunderstood lyrics ever. And Thin White Duke-era Bowie ROCKED!

Love the way Josh Rouse captures the 70's feel.

I never would have thought that these two could make it work musically. Happy to be wrong about that.

Love the feel of the 60's country girl singers she exudes!

Way to go , Bill! Shannon is a real talent. This album was produced by her label mate - Charlie Sexton. His new album "Cruel & Gentle Things" is wonderful. Check it out!
I second that opinion on the Charlie Sexton album. It's awesome. Shannon's album is ok, but not spectacular.

the vocals are slightly reminiscent of the later steve miller stuff, but the music is WAY different.
