That clears up some confusion on my part. I saw the "Rabbi" in his name and assumed some Jewish connection, but he's clearly singing in Hindi.
Actually he is singing in Punjabi, which shares a large vocabulary with Hindi but is a different language. The lyrics are fantastic, if you understand punjabi. Nice to hear something from my neck of the woods (I'm originally from India) on rp. This is precisely the reason why it rocks.
Bulla ki Jaana Bulla, I know not who I am Bulla, I know not who I am Nor am I the believer in mosque Nor am I in idol worship Nor am in the pure or the impure Nor am I in the Vedas
Nor am I in the intoxicants Nor am I in the carefree deviant Nor am I union nor grief Nor am I in the pure/impure Nor am I of the water nor of the land Nor am I fire nor air Bulla, I know not who I am
Nor am I Arabic nor from Lahore Nor am I the Indian city of Nagaur Nor am I Hindu nor a Peshawari turk Nor did I create the difference of faith Nor did I create Adam-Eve Nor did I name myself Beginning or end I know just the self Do not recognise ''the other one'' There's none wiser than I Who is this Bulla Shah Bulla, I know not who I am
I've been a fan of Radiohead since the days of the Bends. What a ride it was to be on board during the journey between that and this, in particular.
They towered above everything else. They remain astonishingly, unfairly good.
There is so much here. I honestly feel bad for the people who insist its just an awful dirge or that Thom can't sing. Sometimes his voice is the most beautiful thing in the world. Sometimes it speaks to the frailty of the human condition. Sometimes it's a frantic existential panic. There's always a vulnerability there. He is utterly genuine.
This band are a universe unto themselves. They are worth your time. They're probably the most important and rewarding rock band of the last quarter century. Let them in, for goodness' sake.
As I read somewhere else, his voice is a distinct instrument
Phenomenal. From the golden era of MTV. It came out when I was young and impressionable and the song and music video will forever hold a special place in my heart.
He's probably a jolly nice fellow, but his music is tremendously boring, and his voice sounds like the flatulence of people fighting each other over Black Friday deals at Walmart.

Again, what's with the Dave Matthews bashing on Radio Paradise? It simply cannot be taste only. What Dave do to piss off the American listener here?
Same sentiment here. I just do not get the DMB bashing either. It's almost as if they have committed some special sin since it just cannot be their music. For an example of their talent and passion and an example of just how good they are in concert, take a look and listen at this opener to their NYC concert from a while back - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTGAaHOIT4U. I guess some things just become memes to be mindlessly transmitted...

What's so WTF about it? It's a song in Punjabi. That's it.
You are perhaps talking about The O.C - that's where I heard this for the first time too.

That's one of the funniest comments I have read recently
Same here. I understand the poetry but not how he manages to pass off as a singer at all.
I thought the English lyrics were just a translation from Hindu.
"Hindi", not "Hindu". Hindi is a language. A Hindu is a person who follows Hinduism, which is a religion.

um, I thought that was Hindi and Maori with a bit of Michael Stipe thrown in ... where was the Arabic?
What Asha Bhosle sings is a verse in Sanskrit. Hindi does derive a lot of it's vocabulary from Sanskrit.
