Amazing that the same person who wrote Blackbird and Yesterday could write this. Paul McCartney is a musical genius.

Heh, I like to exaggerate sometimes to get amusing reactions out of people. Looks like it worked.
Seriously though, we do need more love in this world. "All you need is love..."

Most people don't get this song. That's why they hate it. I think it's about beliefs. The first verse mentions a boy who had something happen to him that he had no control over - the accident and that his hair turned white. The second verse mentions a girl that was born with an abnormality - birthmarks all over her body. Again, something she had no control over. But when the song mentions the kid who believes in a certain (strange) religion just because his parents did, this is worse than the other two kids. Worse because you can't change what happens to you, but you can change, and challenge, your beliefs and what their based upon. And if you don't, you're just opening yourself up to ridicule that is worse than those with abnormalities they couldn't control could ever receive.
I also like the fact that it's nonstandard in that it doesn't rhyme, nor does it even have real words in it's chorus. It leaves the listener to open their mind a little.
Well after reading that comment, I think I need to change my rating on this song from an 8 to a 9. Very solid explaination on your part!

It's easy enough if you consider the scale being 1 to 9 and reserve 10's for masterpieces like this.
I really need to fix my rating system then. I have WAY too many songs that are rated 10. I'll still be pretty generous on the 9's since I have a broad appreciation for music, but 10 means "Godlike", and it needs to be for Godlike compositions only. If a song does not provoke true wonder and amazement, it does not deserve a 10. No exceptions.
This song certainly deserves a 10 though! No question there whatsoever!

Man, let me ask you something... do your parents keep you locked in a basement with a bible? My comment is harsh, but it's not whole hearted. It's emotionally frail people like you that make me want to projectile vommit. Pull yourself together! Also, I hope south park offends you.
I'm not even Christian! What would I be doing with a bible?
Hmm... you hope South Park offends me, eh? Hate to burst your bubble, but I've never seen South Park. Maybe it would offend me, but why should that matter to you? Family Guy doesn't offend me by the way. It just doesn't make me laugh all that much. I will admit that I get the occasional chuckle out of Family Guy, but all in all, I just view it as boring and being a cheap rip-off of The Simpsons. And by the way, The Simpsons is hilarious!
Also, I think Austin Powers is very funny, despite it having its fair share of crude humour.
Emotinally frail? Yeah, maybe I am. Or maybe I'm just not afraid to express my feelings, instead of bottling them up inside. But let's say I am emotinally frail. At least people like me have something called feelings. The alternative is to be a cold-hearted snob, who has to take potshots at rock stars and try and make people cry by telling them that they're emotinally frail. Were you attempting to make me cry with your response? Do you think I'm crying right now? Yeah, you're right. I am crying. I'm sobbing and sobbing and sobbing... and there's a flood of tears right now. I had to buy a new laptop because I short-circuted my other one with all my tears.
Now I'm not saying that crying is a bad thing. It's actually a very good way to release emotion and keep yourself sane, but that doesn't make people emotionally frail... but it's not like you'd understand or anything, so there's really no point in me trying to tell you.
But anyway, I honestly do not care if you like Paul McCartney or not (which you obviously don't), but what I can't stand is when people unleash such hatred. It shows how shallow they are on the inside. I must say I feel really sorry for you... no, I don't actually. I pity you.
Oh well. At least there's people out there who have enough sanity to realize that people don't deserve to die just because their music doesn't appeal to every single person in the world.
But let me ask you this mysteryplane. If all The Beatles do is meaningless pop dribble and corny wanna-be psych, then how do you explain why The Beatles were and are still very popular to this day. How do you explain the 8.8 rating this song got? The Beatles can't appeal to everybody, and that's okay, but you're obviously in a minority. You just might be missing something. You never know. Maybe I'm missing something myself when it comes to Family Guy.
Oh well. I'll just let you resume your rampage of insults and death wishes.
Love turns the world round. Hate plunges it into hell.

I feel sorry for you and your karma....Instant Karma's gonna get you,
Gonna knock you right on the head,
You better get yourself together,
Pretty soon you're gonna be dead,
What in the world you thinking of,
Laughing in the face of love,
What on earth you tryin' to do,
It's up to you, yeah you.
Instant Karma's gonna get you,
Gonna look you right in the face,
Better get yourself together darlin',
Join the human race,
How in the world you gonna see,
Laughin' at fools like me,
Who on earth d'you think you are,
A super star,
Well, right you are.
Well we all shine on,
Like the moon and the stars and the sun,
Well we all shine on,
Ev'ryone come on.
Instant Karma's gonna get you,
Gonna knock you off your feet,
Better recognize your brothers,
Ev'ryone you meet,
Why in the world are we here,
Surely not to live in pain and fear,
Why on earth are you there,
When you're ev'rywhere,
Come and get your share.
Well we all shine on,
Like the moon and the stars and the sun,
Yeah we all shine on,
Come on and on and on on on,
Yeah yeah, alright, uh huh, ah-.
Well we all shine on,
Like the moon and the stars and the sun,
Yeah we all shine on,
On and on and on on and on.
Well we all shine on,
Like the moon and the stars and the sun.
Well we all shine on,
Like the moon and the stars and the sun.
Well we all shine on,
Like the moon and the stars and the sun.
Yeah we all shine on,
Like the moon and the stars and the sun.

Eh, that's alright. As long as you can express your dislike for them in a humble way (without going "OMG! THE BEATLES SUCK!"), then I respect your opinions. I may not agree with them, but I respect them.

Those who criticize are often worth criticism themselves. How can you be so cold-hearted to wish death on someone?
I don't understand it. Why are people so full of hate in this world? It makes me want to cry.
And even if you don't like Paul's music, why would you want him dead? Family Guy, which is one of the most popular cartoons around, is a show I absolutely despise, but I don't wish death on the creators of the show just because I don't like their work.
Paul McCartney is as much of a human as anyone else, and it breaks my heart that you would wish death and pain on him.
Suppose you were a musical artist and people wanted you dead simply because they didn't like your music. How would you feel?
