Untitled Track 4 - Sigur Rós
Posted 18 years ago by Rocc4:
I just recently discovered this band and gratefully so. I like their icy sound and I'm a big fan of hypnotic repetition when appropriate. Speaking of icy, they're from Iceland. I don't mind not knowing the lyrics, the vocal melodies are great on their own. Wouldn't mind hearing some more of these guys on RP.
If I ever get to experience Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights), Sigur Ros will be the perfect soundtrack.

Viva Radio Paradiso!
Yo toca la guitarra!
OK Bill, out with it. Just admit that you're an exiled Mexican national!
Tacos for everyone! Don't support border patrol!
MIRA-MIRA!
Rumba de Barcelona - Manu Chao

It's only been an hour since we last heard a Latin song. Ai-yi-yi! Has this station been hijacked by Antonio Banderas?! WTF?!
Maybe Bill should practice his hot Latin dance moves on his own time.
Enough already!

What is it with the Latin songs on this station?! I wouldn't mind them once in a while but do I have to hear like 5 during my working hours? Thank God for the mute button.
No mas! NO MAS!

I feel like I'm at Chi-Chi's.

6 Underground (Nellee Hooper Edit) - Sneaker Pimps

Nice and smooth.
"A 1-2, a 1-2, a 1-2...."
I used to pimp out sneakers but then Foot Locker came along and ruined that gig for me. LOL.....
Black (Live) - Pearl Jam

Excuse me while I stick this fork in my eye.
The original is OK but it doesn't do it for me at all acoustically.

Eleanor Rigby/Julia - The Beatles

That 'Julia' reprise is so subtle and short which I'm not sure is good or bad. I think I would like to hear more of 'Julia' mixed in at the end since it's one of my favorite Lennon-penned songs.

Turning Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so.
Chest Fever - The Band

Hands-down my favorite song by The Band.
And I hate to be redundant here but I don't think you can overstate the organ on this tune. Not only is it one of the best Hammond B3 tones on record but Garth Hudson plays it masterfully. I can almost see the rotating speaker in the Leslie cabinet, and I'm not even on any hallucinogenic substances! It's just so rich and swirling.
This song moves me so much. Always picks me up when I need it.
Fall at Your Feet (w/ Danny Wilde) - Jesse Cook

I think we've heard enough flamenco-flavored music for one afternoon.
Is Bill giving dancing lessons or something? WTF?
Wordless Chorus - My Morning Jacket

At the risk of sounding redundant, I just don't get the hype and appeal that I've encountered about this band. Everything I've heard is less than mediocre and sometimes just plain awful. I've heard actual 'garage bands' down my street compose better songs.

Minstrel music! Makes me feel like I'm at a Renaissance fair.

To all of you that think this song is too slow or boring I pose this question: Do you always drive your car in high gear? Probably not. Sometimes you have to downshift to climb a hill.
I think this song is beautiful in its simplicity. I especially like the sparse slide guitar parts. Less is more.
I found much comfort in this song during a difficult time.
What's so funny about peace, love and soothing songs?
