Yeah, OK, I'll stand up and support this album. Sure his later stuff seeped into blandness but this album has enough of a spine to keep my interest and I think it's aged pretty good too.
Hey! stop with the tomato tossing! You'll put my eye out!
Some think the band name is ironic, but to the Nottingham jury it's simply descriptive. I've not heard a single GD number that rates above 2, and sadly this is no exception. They may have been trailblazers in their day and the dog's bollox, but their music hasn't IMO dated very well. This one just gives me a headache :(
I drove a herd of cattle down from old New-brasky way That's how I come to be in the state of Iowa. I met a gal in Iowa. Her eyes were big and blue. I asked her what her name was. She said, "Sioux City Sue." ...'Sioux City Sue'.
Not much, to answer your question.
Man, Sioux City Sue....
I worked in a pizza parlor 20 years ago with a strict muslim girl from Casablanca. I had a tape of trucker tunes that we used to play and for some reason Souix City Sue really caught her ear. She used to sing it all day long. It was hilarious watching this Morrocan girl make pizza while singing trucking tunes! Thanks for bringing back a sweet memory.
For me its Mel Brooks' History of the World Part I
That would make the song title quite apt.
If I ever become a stalker this will be my theme music.
Reminds me of that great scene in The Wanderers!
"Leave the kid alone"
"...and there is always a way"
