Met Bela before a show at Auburn's outdoor amphitheater in the fall of 1999. I asked him if he thought they might play this song. Unfortunately, he said cause it was cold out, that it would throw the tuning off with his sitar bridge that he uses for this tune. (That might have been his polite way of saying "No." I'm a performing musician – I get it. No harm.) But this was always a favorite from this album. AMAZING band. Most talented group of musicians in the modern era. RP should add "New South Africa" if they don't have it already.
I LOVE THE HELL out of Radiohead. If you want to rock, you either listen to Radiohead or Led Zeppelin. This song, fittingly, is the Stairway to Heaven of Radiohead. PLEASE stop playing this one Radiohead song. Play ALL the others.
I've heard Peter Gabriel described as a lazy genius. I can understand that. Genius, he certainly is—this song goes a long way to uphold that opinion. I think the "lazy" is a compliment because, aligned with my opinion, I wish there was more of him out there to hear.
Doesn't anyone ever listen to lyrics? Man... This is a great song. Not everyone feels the need to rhyme "rain" and "pain" as in every spoon-fed song you all seem to crave.
Always evokes a hazy memory of an unforgettable girl. Waking in a bed, the credits rolling, I am close to her, filled with the breath of her scent. I will always be close to her no matter where she is. North Carolina. This is her song.
Right now, my go-to music has two heads: Talking Heads & Radiohead. And if you didn't already know, "Radio Head" is a Talking Heads song where the latter got its name. Good taste there. It's a good song, too, Radio Head. So is this one.
Talk about a sonic landscape...this one spans a galaxy.
I think of some annoying commercial featuring elderly people trying to feel young again via the use of a new laxative or through the new-found freedom of an adult diaper.
I realize at one point it was a quirky, fun, hip tune. And good for the Isley Brothers for writing such a jingly song. And I am a musician, too. I'd want someone to play my music, but this is NOT a new song. It is PLAYED OUT.
#1 goes to that "Little bit of history repeating" crap. Ugh.
I think this is a good song, but do we have to hear it EVERYDAY?
Would you like to pet my monkey?
Favorite PG song?
Tied: No Self Control, Secret World
Only a scientist could write that line. Great.

That was Adrien Belew.

What's next on the playlist? MMM-Bop?
