OK, I'm a Soundgarden fan. But jeez-louise, can we play something else besides this song and the only other two tracks RP has in its collection? There's a ton of good stuff out there off "Badmotorfinger", this album ("Superunknown"), and "Down on the Upside". I'd be happy to upload some if that's what it'll take.
A great song from a stellar album from the best band on the planet! 10+
In early 1983 during my senior year in high school I bought this album by mistake. I had heard a local album rock station playing Thomas Dolby - "One of Our Submarines" and when I went to the local record store not knowing the true artist or actual song title (hey I was in high school), somehow I thought "U2" = U-boat = closest thing to a submarine and bought it. I think I also had heard "New Years Day" on the radio and thought the title seemed familiar so why not take a chance on it. Of course when I got home and played it I was disappointed it wasn't the submarine song I was looking for (later found out it was Thomas Dolby). But I was blown away by these four Irish lads and their passionate, firery rock-in-roll on the War album. I immediately went out and bought Boy and October and became a life-long fan of their incredible music.
Awesome stuff! My favorite Dallas export and fellow Texans - the always great Old 97's! RP needs more tracks from them - especially from the "Too Far to Care", "Wreck Your Life", and "Hitchhike to Rhome" albums.
Exactly! Was blown away by the stereo separation of this when I first heard it.
We should be allowed to rate this as an "11"!!!
