Anyone know the connection between Peter Gabriel's "I Grieve" and this track? Jo is often preceded by I Grieve. On RP, there's usually a reason, but it eludes me.
It's especially poignant for me because I lost my wife to cancer a few years ago, and I Grieve generally rips my heart out. My wife's name was Jo, so.....
I like this song when it starts, but at about 3:08 I find myself skipping to the next song. I'm glad he found his second wind and all, but enough already.
It is amazing how this song can bring such an emotional response to me each time I hear it. My wife and I were huge Six Feet Under fans and the finale was really emotional for us both. What a series. Thanks to Bill for mentioning it on RP. Many of the good things I've discovered lately have come from RP! Keep up the good work, Bill!
Today this song was followed by "I Grieve" by Peter Gabriel. I doubt that's a coincidence.
I was just telling a friend about the wonders of Radio Paradise and the eclectic playlists when this track came on right after The Doors. Where else can you find such awesome segues?
I once worked in an office that piped in music (HORRORS!) and they regularly played a muzakified version of this. It took a while for those first few notes not to send me running and to return this song to masterpiece status in my mind.
The first few times I heard this, I had to double check that my squeeze players were in sync in the various rooms. When they're not in sync, you get that echo effect which works on this song, but is annoying when not intentional.
This starts out as a 7 or 8 for me. After 2 minutes it quickly drops points. By the end, I'm rating it a 2 or 3 — except I never get to the end because of PSD.
Strange tune. You could use this as the title music to a weird TV show about an FBI investigation of a teenage murder in a small logging town in Washington. Dual Peaks, summat like that anyway.
Oh, I don't think a plot like that would ever work, at least not in the U.S. Well, maybe if you added a lady who clutched a piece of firewood like a baby.. Then maybe throw in a woman obsessed with silent drape runners, the show might have a chance. I'm still skeptical.

No, you are not. I thought it was a bad mash-up of sorts, but I heard Bill back-announcing during the music, too. Ooops.
Yup. Very very few tracks make me switch off RP, but this is definitely one.
Who woulda thunk it, but it works!
Shit man, there hasn't been videos on MTV for about a decade now!
