exactly my take on 99% of your rants. why do you persist  in being tormented by R.P.'S habit of playing fantastic  music? go back to clear channel of where ever your happy........

you think that's funny? I had to play that in my high school band at the Christmas faire thingy....I was third clarinet, which gave me lots of time for other functions....I should have been second but, you know...Mary-Beth was cute and well.....high school.....anyway...we got to the part with the penguins and the third trombone started to gag. Seems one of the penguins crapped on his shoes, something like that....At one point the director indicated it was time for me to "remove all cattle from stage", which, being a good farm boy, I thought I could handle. Sadly, the cattle were mock ups...small children dressed as cows, all from a nearby private school and they were having a good time frolicking amongst the strings, (mostly the cellos), I had to use the "prod" to get them off the stage, and sadly, there was a somewhat vocal outcry from a few mums....So glad I'm not in high school any more......

high school was for getting , well high. i'll never forget  the dope lecture in 8th grade a local nark came to class and did his sthick, then passed around a plate with 2 badly rolled pinners, when he got the plate back.....there were 3 joints and the 3rd. one was a fatty. never in my life have I seen a cop that color.

As big a fan as I am of Norah's work, I have to agree with you.  Now, when it comes to women covering Tom Waits' work, nothing holds a candle to Shawn Colvin's efforts, IMHO.  {#Whistle}

Nora could sing me the phone book. she has the pipes. as for female Waits covers? Riki Lee Jones, hands down.
