Describing one human being as being a "poor man's" version of another, does a terrible disservice to everyone involved.

Both Mr. Wilder and Mr. Hiatt have a place in the collective musical pantheon.

I won't lower myself to respond in the vein of this criticism - Webb Wilder is a solid songwriter who can play great rock 'n' roll and country-tinged music. Stop worrying about labels and listen to a fine American musician ply his craft. Webb rocks and can sing ballads as well. I salute Radio Paradise for recognizing one of his very many excellent tunes. And like the one of the previous posters wrote - his sense of humor is superb. - Riff

I can see placing Webb and John Hiatt together in the same context.  It's the "poor man's" part where you completely lose me.

Thankful that he came through my town many times in my wild and crazy youth. His live shows always left you sweaty and hoarse and rubber-legged. He left it all on the stage every single time. Love this guy.

I ran across Webb years ago on an old USA Network show called "Night Flight".  Interesting guy and I always liked his music.  I wish he had more success in that regard.
