Describing one human being as being a "poor man's" version of another, does a terrible disservice to everyone involved.
Both Mr. Wilder and Mr. Hiatt have a place in the collective musical pantheon.
I just kicked this off 7 to an 8. Couple of hooks in there that stop me in my tracks every time.
Agreed - something quirky and enjoyable about this tune, with or without any religious overtones. an 8 from this aesthetically astounded atheist in Seattle
The last of the boarding house people...
A man who believes that you are "Never quite bald, never quite wall-to-wall"...
A guy who knows every thrift shop and plate lunch joint in town...
A man who has dedicated himself to both kinds of music: Rock and Roll.
A man with a credo: Work hard, rock hard, eat hard, sleep hard, grow big, wear glasses if you need 'em!
One of my favorite artists to work with live, still have the T-shirt with the WW Credo on the back! This album rocks!
Good advice, at all times, in all circumstances, no matter what your denomination.
I can see placing Webb and John Hiatt together in the same context. It's the "poor man's" part where you completely lose me.

8→9 !! There' something especially enjoyable about this tune. Long Live RP!!
Great to here this.
Since when did being Buffet become a bad thing? Just saying.....
Who says they don't? Atheists are generally far more tolerant of people's right to believe whatever they want. Where people get confused is when atheists are not tolerant of other people trying to legislate their beliefs onto others.
Defensive much? You misinterpret my comment.
