You are playing away in the background as always and you KEEP INTERRUPTING ME!
Time and again I have to stop what I am doing and delve into the detail of what you are playing.
Another lovely piece of music - Thank you, I suppose.
It can be fairly common in some parts of the world for people to not know when they were born. They don't place any cultural significance on it. I had a tibetan girlfriend for a bit, she had no idea what her birthday was or even which year. A lot of refugees just make up some arbitrary date when they register in India.
As a multi-cultural person I've always enjoyed many different kinds of music. I've enjoyed other Tibetan music in the past but had not previously heard Yungchen's music.
This discovery on RP led me to check out her other work on Spotify and I am LOVIN it.
Thanks so much Radio Paradise!
Or maybe, "why so xenophobic?"
RP makes coming to work a pleasure, where I can sit and dream for some considerable time without interruption. Agnes Obel, Yunchen Lhamo and now Kate Bush. What a start to my dreary Monday. I raise a glass to Mr & Mrs G and wish you both a wonderful New Year.
Why would anyone compare her to Yoko Ono? Tibet is about as far from Japan as England is to Turkey. Asians are not monolithic, you know
"The message of this song, according to (Yunchen Lhamo), is "finding your path and following it...often, the things we think make us happy have no real meaning in our lives. There is a way of thinking, of living that has
meaning, and it is the happiness found on this path that we really
should be searching for."
Beautiful song.
I totally agree and just wish I could give this comment a hundred "thumbs up".

This is not Rock and Roll, but I like it.
This (RP) is not Rock and Roll Paradise.
