Lost at Last is a tribal trance and world fusion band formed in Maui, Hawaii in 1996 by South Africa-native keyboardist Om, singer Jaya Lakshmi, and guitarist Deva Priyo. Other experienced musicians were recruited, bringing the group’s number to seven. The band moved to San Francisco in 1997, releasing their self-titled debut album the same year. After signing up with RCA Records, the group recorded its second album in 2001, also self-titled.
Lost at Last combines traditional and electronic music together, traditional instruments are played alongside a mixture of electronic beats and sequences.
In the summer of 2004, Jaya Lakshmi and Deva Priyo began working with other electronica artists and experimenting with different formulas to deepen and refine their sound. They also changed the band name to One at Last.
There is a Norwegian heavy metal band also named Lost at Last, the two bands are often confused online, to the point they often share the same wiki entries, and their albums appear together in discographies.
