Sam Phillips

Leslie Ann Phillips (born January 28, 1962), better known by her stage name Sam Phillips, is an American singer and songwriter. Her albums include the critically acclaimed Martinis & Bikinis in 1994 and Fan Dance in 2001. She has also composed scores for the television shows Gilmore Girls, Bunheads, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Love Sam, but hadn't hear this before. The opening sounded like The Yardbird's "Heart Full Of Soul" from 1965!

Exactly.  It's especially annoying how the people posting the allegations seem to think that they're the only people who have ever heard of "Heartful Of Soul".  As if T. Bone Burnett and Sam Phillips thought no one in the whole universe would notice and that their evil scheme was foiled by the non-musician, music-detectives here.  It's an obvious nod to the riff in that song - other than that the chord progressions the songs are completely different.

I've always loved how the overtones in her incredible voice and those wild guitars seem to match and resonate so perfectly, and ring in the ear for a long, long time... The bass is wicked bad, as well. Amazing!
