I follow the Moskva
Down to Gorky Park
Listening to the wind of change
An August summer night
Soldiers passing by
Listening to the wind of change
The world is closing in
Did you ever think
That we could be so close, like brothers
The future's in the air
I can feel it everywhere
Blowing with the wind of change
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
in the wind of change
Walking down the street
Distant memories
Are buried in the past forever
I follow the Moskva
Down to Gorky Park
Listening to the wind of change
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
in the wind of change
The wind of change
Blows straight into the face of time
Like a stormwind that will ring the freedom bell
For peace of mind
Let your balalaika sing
What my guitar wants to say
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away

The Scorpions

This song may be a joke today for many Germans, but let's be true: This became the official anthem for the reunification of Germany :).
So yes, I'm smiling about this song... but with a good, warm feeling in my German heart!
It's all good. I haven't heard this in years. Where's my Bic lighter?!
The more things change...
Perhaps it came out at that special time for me, my late teenage years. While the world was going through some major changes. Some how, the future didn't seem as scary as Mutually Assured Destruction.
I was 'into' this band about then, but probably haven't listened to them, Asia or even Magnum since.
Thanks for the memories ... :-)

Whenever this would play on the radio while we were working, my brother-in-law would always say "Did you know that I can whistle in German?" And he'd start whistling along. Good memories.
Written by the CIA songwriting department?
Quite possibly.

They're offended by everything
I . . . huh?
Up there with John Lennon and Otis Redding tracks utilising whistling in art! 🤣
