Richard Butler

Richard Lofthouse Butler (born 5 June 1956) is an English singer and songwriter. Butler came to prominence in the early 1980s as lead vocalist of the rock band the Psychedelic Furs and went on to found the alternative rock band Love Spit Love in the early 1990s, during a hiatus of the Psychedelic Furs. Butler began his solo career in 2006, while still being a member of the Psychedelic Furs, releasing the self-titled studio album Richard Butler.

Holy crap - this is the same voice that sang "Heartbreak Beat"?  New avenue of music for me. Love this song....  I really need to get to bed, but how great it is to sign in to slumberland with a new revelation to ponder before the sandman bludgeons me into oblivion!  Love this song... Awesome — I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. 5 years after posting that comment, I appreciate this album more than ever. Having just heard this track on RP a few minutes ago, I decided to play the whole album this afternoon. {#Cheesygrin}

As far as under the radar album recommendations go, this is near the top of my list. A few friends have picked it up and they haven't been disappointed.

I never quite realized how much I like this guy's body of work.  I have recordings by most of his bands I think, and have seen them play live, yes, I must give Richard Butler his due.  Missed this one though, I'll have to remedy that.

Ha...thx, had no idea!  Loved the Psychadelic Furs, but that was the 80's when I was a teen and now my mind is gone!  :)

Yeah, his other stuff was with his old band, " The Psychadelic Furs."

Apart from getting a bit poppy with Heartbreak Beat (if they got paid well good luck to them) this chap hasn't put a foot wrong imho.
