R.L. Burnside

R. L. Burnside (November 23, 1926 – September 1, 2005) was an American blues singer, songwriter and guitarist. He played music for much of his life but received little recognition before the early 1990s. In the latter half of that decade, Burnside recorded and toured with Jon Spencer, garnering crossover appeal and introducing his music to a new fan base in the punk and garage rock scenes.

If you like R.L. Burnside and other Delta Musians, I highly recommend that you take a look at the photographs of Bill Steber.  One of his photos of R.L. Burnside can be found at http://www.steberphoto.com/zow...R.L. Burnside - Bill Steber  Bill is an outstanding documentarian of deep south and he is great guy to boot.

Say what you will, but one of the good things about living in Mississippi is seeing these bluesmen and blueswomen live on a regular basis, usually in small clubs real late at night. R.L. was the real deal with zero apologies.
