I said no babe, just your banker
She said baby you're my chains
I said no hun I'm your anchor
I said baby you're my wings
She said no babe, you're a fish
I said baby you're my dream
She said no hun, just your wish
She said baby you're my river
I said no hun, I'm your drain
She said baby you're my color
I said no babe I'm your stain
I said baby you're my diamond
She said no babe, just your pick
I said baby you are magic
She said no jun, just a trick
She said baby you can see me
I said baby i just sense
She said baby you're my castle
I said no hun, I'm your fence
I said baby you're my lover
She said no hun, just your maid
I said baby i adore you
She said no babe, you're just afraid

Asaf Avidan (Hebrew: אסף אבידן; born March 23, 1980) is an Israeli singer-songwriter. From 2006 to 2011, he was part of the group Asaf Avidan & the Mojos, independently releasing three studio albums. The Reckoning, their debut record, was certified Gold in Israel and became one of the best-selling independent albums in the country. After disbanding in 2011, a 2012 remix of Asaf Avidan & the Mojos' single "Reckoning Song" (2008) by German disc jockey Wankelmut — retitled into One Day / Reckoning Song — attained widespread commercial success throughout Europe. It topped the charts in several countries and was certified Gold and Platinum. In 2012, Avidan started a solo career, eventually releasing three studio albums to moderate success in European countries.
He's not trying to sound like Janis Joplin; you're trying to classify who he sounds like and you've decided to shoehorn him into an imperfect Janis Joplin impersonation. Asaf has, to American ears, a unique singing style that is probably not out of place in more traditional music circles. His song Her Lies (see link below), right before the end, has a vocal section that is obviously powerful & skillful, but may be quite off-putting for those that are unused to that way of singing.
Asaf could probably put a hell of a twist on a Janis tune, but I think he would take the wise route and avoid imitation.
I like it. Makes me stop and listen. More Asaf Avidan please.
If you are not Janis Joplin, and don't have a voice anywhere near Janis Joplin's, you should not try this hard to sound like Janis Joplin. The result is not a "sound" or a "style," its an imperfectly-executed algorithm, and it shows.
I'm sorry, but what??
”You’re too different!”
Oh, sorry.
”You’re not different enough!”
Sure, sorry.
*sigh*

Agreed. This material fits the rotation really well, I think.

Wow, thanks, that was awesome.
The voice is precisely what makes this stand out in my opinion.
Haven't decided about this one yet.......
Yea, I'm with you or not with you, I haven't decided yet.
I love this enough to stop whatever I'm doing, turn up the volume and immerse in it when it comes on, but doesn't make me download it and have it on my playlist (and I do download a lot of tracks due to RP's intros)
That's what I think is a good fit for Radio Paradise.
