The Burned
“The Burned” began as a solo project by Kurt Baumann, who had formerly been lead singer and songwriter of the band Kan’Nal. Baumann released his first album, also titled “The Burned”, on January 26, 2010. Baumann would be joined by Kevin Colomby on bass, Bruce Harvie on guitar, Joseph Pusateri on drums, and John Polstra on pedal steel for the second album, ‘Dark Red Sun’, released May 15, 2018. The Burned recorded and released their third album that same year, ‘Blood of the Land’, releasing it on September 1, 2018. For their fourth and most recent album ‘Ghosts’, they were joined by Charles Porter on the trumpet for the song “Ghost Highway”. Their music has a dark, eerie tone to it. Baumann claims to have been inspired by both rock stars such as John Lennon and David Bowie, and country stars like Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson.
