Pull up in your fast car
Whistling my name
Open up a beer
And you say, Get over here
And play a video game
I'm in his favourite sun dress
Watching me get undressed
Take that body downtown
I say you the bestest
Lean in for a big kiss
Put his favourite perfume on
Go play a video game
It's you, it's you, it's all for you
Everything I do
I tell you all the time
Heaven is a place on earth with you
Tell me all the things you want to do
I heard that you like the bad girls
Honey, is that true?
It's better than I ever even knew
They say that the world was built for two
Only worth living if somebody is loving you
Baby, now you do
Singing in the old bars
Swinging with the old stars
Living for the fame
Kissing in the blue dark
Playing pool and wild darts
Video games
He holds me in his big arms
Drunk and I am seeing stars
This is all I think of
Watching all our friends fall
In and out of Old Paul's
This is my idea of fun
Playing video games
It's you, it's you, it's all for you
Everything I do
I tell you all the time
Heaven is a place on earth with you
Tell me all the things you want to do
I heard that you like the bad girls
Honey, is that true?
It's better than I ever even knew
They say that the world was built for two
Only worth living if somebody is loving you
Baby, now you do
Now you do, now you do, now you do
Now you do, now you do, now you do
It's you, it's you, it's all for you
Everything I do
I tell you all the time
Heaven is a place on earth with you
Tell me all the things you want to do
I heard that you like the bad girls
Honey, is that true?
It's better than I ever even knew
They say that the world was built for two
Only worth living if somebody is loving you
Baby, now you do
Now you do, now you do, now you do
Now you do
Now you do, now you do, now you do

Elizabeth Woolridge Grant (born June 21, 1985), known professionally as Lana Del Rey, is an American singer-songwriter.
Her music is noted for its cinematic quality and exploration of tragic romance, glamor, and melancholia, with frequent references to contemporary pop culture and 1950s–70s Americana. Her vintage Hollywood glamor aesthetic is presented not only in her music, but also in her music videos.
Raised in northern New York, Del Rey moved to New York City in 2005 to pursue a music career. She first began releasing music as Lizzy Grant, with the EP 'Kill Kill' arriving in 2008. By 2010, she had rebranded herself as Lana Del Rey, and released her self-titled debut studio album; the album did not chart.
After numerous projects, Del Rey's breakthrough came in 2011 with the viral success of her single "Video Games"; she subsequently signed a recording contract with Polydor and Interscope. She achieved critical and commercial success with her major label debut album, Born to Die (2012), debuting and peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Born to Die contained the sleeper hit "Summertime Sadness".
Born To Die became her first of six number-one albums in the UK, and also topped various national charts around the world. Del Rey's third album, Ultraviolence (2014), featured greater use of guitar-driven instrumentation and debuted atop the U.S. Billboard 200. Her fourth and fifth albums, Honeymoon (2015) and Lust for Life (2017), saw a return to the stylistic traditions of her earlier releases, while her critically acclaimed sixth album, Norman Fucking Rockwell! (2019) explored soft rock, was nominated for Album of the Year at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards, and was also named one of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time by Rolling Stone. Her next studio albums, Chemtrails over the Country Club and Blue Banisters, followed in 2021. Del Rey collaborated with Taylor Swift on "Snow on the Beach", from Swift's tenth studio album Midnights (2022).
Del Rey's ninth studio album, Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, was later released in 2023, supported by the critically acclaimed single "A&W" and its title track.

Judge the song, people.
Cut the crap!
Well do some research then. A quick look at Wikipedia (yeah, I know, not always to be trusted) tells me she does appear to be a multi-talented do-it-your-self-er, like beck.
Great string of songs right now btw Bill and Rebecca. Just have to love RP for all the great music and all the new stuff they keep coming up with. And the combinations that makes me want to check out some songs I would otherwise just ignore. Thanks!
Job #1 for any publicist of any pop star out there is to manage wikipedia.
Her dad is an internet mogul and she has the best talent money can buy.
No thanks.
4 to a 2 as I'm bucking the trend of this actually improving in the ratings
But this insipid, marginally-talented twit? On RP? Have I gone to sleep and awakened in "Upside Down World"?
No more please. I only get to listen to RP for a couple of hours a week on Sunday, and I don't want to hear Axl Rose's girlfriend coming out of my speakers.
We second that emotion
Liz Fraser is another good example
(Maybe Aimee Mann can save her from the ranks of the freaks who suspect they could never love anyone ...)
Completely agree. This just doesn't work for me at all. Every time I hear it I just think "you sure ain't convincing me!". Fake and artificial, her adopted persona just doesn't ring true, and there is nothing else there.
The New York Times seems keen to propel the LDR debate forward. The first link provides 6 different views:

It'll be interesting to see how this all pans out. I tend to dig in my heels when bombarded with PR work about the brilliance of a new star ("Lady Gaga!" Mercifullly those hype and media stunts have stopped for now).
(and I try to suppress the thought she might only be an artificial music industry project and not a multi-talented do-it-your-self-er like beck or vast and alikes)

And I did buy! it!
Lana's definitely a product of a music label/ad campaign. Beautiful woman, very limited singing abilities, no persona or schtick. And this song is a collection of pop-music cliches.
Maybe she'll produce some great music. But there has to be better young talent out there than this.

That's the joy of only listening to RP (and NPR), it's all new and good to me. Can't stand other radio stations for exactly that reason - they kill great music and my ears with poor music. So very glad to have good music here even if it's popular elsewhere.
definetely: yes! love the song. but hate the mainstreamer's ubiquitous hype around this song. even on tv here, you won't escape from it.

I like her. She's different.
