This time it looked and felt so different
I'm begging to my loved ones, understand
I'm a useless man, the loving hand that you fell for
That you fell for
I took my fear back to Galileo
They told me son, just count your blessings
I wandered through those streets that you wouldn't mend
And I felt so low, the man I used to know
That you fell for, that you fell for
And oh, I wander
And oh, I live in fear
Cause when my shadow moves I shudder
For the fear inside my heart won't disappear, no dear
Cause I sold my spirit for your soul
I felt it running through my fingertips
I love you more than you will know
And I hope you understand
My strength lies in your hands
And oh, I wander
And oh, I live in fear
Cause when my shadow moves I shudder
For the fear inside my heart won't disappear, no dear
You took my only one, when I only wanted love
When I only wanted love

Boy & Bear are an Australian indie folk band formed in 2009, consisting of David Hosking (vocals and guitar), Killian Gavin (vocals and guitar), Tim Hart (drums and vocals), Jonathan Hart (vocals, banjo, mandolin and keyboards), and David Symes (bass). The band has released two EPs and five studio albums. The first two albums, Moonfire (August 2011) and Harlequin Dream (August 2013), reached the top ten of the Australian albums chart. Their third album, Limit of Love, was released on 9 October 2015, in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and Canada, and on 30 October in the UK and Europe. On 27 September 2019, after a four-year break, they released their long-awaited fourth studio album, Suck on Light. After yet another break between 2020 and 2022 due to the COVID pandemic, the band finally released their self-titled fifth studio album on 26 May 2023.
I never fail to be astonished how, with the countless thousands of bands out there, an individual voice can be identified and recognised, as in this case. Unique sound and in a different league to the cripplingly awful Mr Martin.
ps the fish hook in my lip stung a little, but it's ok now.
Christopher Robin says: "Don't be an Eeyore!"
Fire that bassist. My cat can play better than that.
Really catty about this:)
bumping it to 9
Initially quite likeable, gets a 7!
Agreed!
Yep, yep and more yep. Couldn't agree more if I tried.
yeah, I feel this song is particularly bland - his voice is both grating and soppy if that is possible
"Grating & Soppy" would be a good band name...or at least an album title. Like steel cut oats.
Good tune.
Quite a while.
I can second that one! A '7' on 1st listen.
Yes.
