You can come and look if you want to
In the halls you'll see the mantles
Where the light shines dim all around you
And the streets are paved with gold and if
Someone asks you, you can call my name
You are just a thought that someone
Somewhere somehow feels you should be here
And it's so for real to touch
To smell, to feel, to know where you are here
And the streets are paved with gold and if
Someone asks you, you can call my name
You can call my name
I hear you calling my name, yeah, all right now, hey
By the time that I'm through singing
The bells from the schools of walls will be ringing
More confusions, blood transfusions
The news today will be the movies for tomorrow
And the water's turned to blood, and if
You don't think so
Go turn on your tub
And if it's mixed with mud
You see it turn to gray
And you can call my name
I hear you call my name

Love is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965. Led by frontman and primary songwriter Arthur Lee, they were one of the first racially diverse American rock bands. Their sound incorporated an eclectic range of styles including garage, folk-rock, and psychedelia. While finding only modest success on the music charts, peaking in 1966 with their US Top 40 hit "7 and 7 Is", Love would come to be praised by critics as their third album, Forever Changes (1967), became generally regarded as one of the best albums of the 1960s.
The band's classic lineup is considered to consist of frontman Lee, guitarist/singer Bryan MacLean, bassist Ken Forssi, guitarist Johnny Echols, and drummer Donnie Conca (the inspiration behind the song, “Signed D.C.”) and then replaced by Alban "Snoopy" Pfisterer. By 1968, only Lee remained and he continued recording as Love with varied members through the 1970s. MacLean and Forssi died in 1998. Lee died in 2006. Forever Changes was added to the Library of Congress's National Recording Registry in 2011. In recent years, original member Johnny Echols has toured under the title of the Love Band or Love Revisited.
Everybody in my hotel room loves this song, and Radio Paradise...
WOW!
I Agree! Thanx RP!
That's why I like to listen to this station.............;)
Unfortunately he and his different incarnations since don't have the talent of Aurthur Lee and the Love musicians.
Paul Weller was on the Jools Holland show recently - embarrassing is the only word I can use to describe what I saw and heard.
On the other hand... Authur Lee is a giant among the list of artists who never got the recognition they deserved,

True. They were one of the best bands of their time. It seemed it was difficult for Elektra Records to market them, particularly since they were a multi-racial band and especially once the label seemingly concentrated all their marketing and promotion energies on The Doors.
