Sonny Landreth

I've see him twice, indoor and outdoor, and its a jaw dropping experience.
Perhaps he'll acknowledge the existence of Rory Gallagher one day.

Yahoo!! I was lucky enough to catch the same set a couple of months later!
Hard to top these three guitar greats back to back!
Cranked to 10. That's about 2kW of Bryston power plus another 1.5kW or so from the Paradigm Servo 15 subwoofer. Sonny is ripping the paint from my walls!
I Agree!
"According to lore, in an interview withRolling Stone magazine, Jimi Hendrix was asked, “How does it feel to be the greatest guitarist in the world?” He is believed to have answered, “I don’t know, go ask Rory Gallagher.”"

Holy smokes, this man can play! How the hell do you get that good?
A lifetime of dedication though some seem to get good at a very young age. You've got to want to. I've known many people who "want" to learn to play the guitar, but for the wrong reasons, then give up very quickly when they find out it actually takes some work.
Maybe Joe Satriani or Steve Vai perhaps?
Or Joe Bonamassa.
