Krishna Das (born Jeffrey Kagel; May 31, 1947) is an American vocalist known for his performances of Hindu devotional music known as kirtan (chanting the names of God). He has released seventeen albums since 1996. He performed at the 2013 Grammy Awards, where his album Live Ananda (2012) was nominated for the 2013 Grammy Award for Best New Age Album. He's been described by the New York Times as "the chant master of American yoga".

Well, it's indian mantra style music. The monotony is kind of like the whole point of it... but you're free of course to like or dislike it.

After experiencing Krishna Das' Kirtan performance, I have a greater appreciation for this. Embarrassed to say I gave it a 3 to begin with. Up to an 8 now.

At some point I looked up from what I was doing, frowned at the speaker, and came to the page just to give this a two. Then I listened awhile longer and said "Well, I guess they won me over" and changed it to a 7. Still broadening those horizons. :-)
