Southern Pacific railroad
Runs through my place
About 35 miles south to San Antone
In Seguin, in Seguin
Where things, they are so mellow
I'm so glad to be back on the scene
Back in old Seguin
Many a times I've wandered
Been both east and west
I'm so glad to tell you about
The places I love best
I've been over to the Gulf Coast
And I walked around Padre Island
I'm so glad to be back on the scene
Back in old Seguin
In Seguin, in Seguin
Where things they are so mellow
I'm so glad to be back on the scene
Back in old Seguin
Barbeque's just a quarter
Beer is just 35 cents
You smell the hickory smoke
As you're drivin' down by the fence
There's also a lot of moonshine
Things that make you mellow
And I'm so glad to be back on the scene
Back in old Seguin
In Seguin, in Seguin
Where things, they are so mellow
I'm so glad to be back on the scene

Son Volt

Son Volt is an American rock band formed in 1994 by Jay Farrar after the breakup of Uncle Tupelo. The band's current line-up consists of Farrar (vocals, guitar), Andrew DuPlantis (bass guitar), John Horton (guitar), Mark Patterson (drums), and Mark Spencer (keyboard, steel guitar). In addition to playing alternative rock, the band is considered a staple of the alternative country rock movement of the 1990s. The band's sound also is rooted in folk rock and Americana. The band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2001, before reforming in 2004.
