Long ago I worked an overnight disc jockey shift at a radio station in Maryland. The night DJ broadcast all alone from the transmitter located in a field by the towers, A girlfriend sometimes came up to keep me company during the long shift. When she'd head out for a long drive home about ODarkThirty I liked to play this song for her to listen to as she drove away. This song always brings that time back for me. She was a good friend

Great under-rated band. Probably their best album too

Waaayyyy back in the last century one of the bands I played with often used this as an opening warmup song - great vibe, great rhythms, let everyone get in a good groove. Still takes me back!

Many years ago I was out on a pier in San Diego early on a sunny Monday morning wben an assault ship passed by on its way to sea to begin a deployment. While homecomings can be raucous, ships leaving to deploy often do so with little fanfare. But wafting from this 40,000-ton warship as it glided by was the unmistakably threatening sound of Kashmir booming from the 1MC announcement system as the crew manned the rails.  Never has a song seemed more appropriate

Fabulous album, produced by Daniel Lanois - who by the by should be played on RP if not already

Loved this when it came out, still sounds wonderful - gkad it hasn't completely disappeared into the never-played past. Brewer & Shipley did a great version as well - I remember them saying they learned it the same way the rest of us did, just listening to the radio.

Beautiful song with so many beautiful versions. My fave remains Helen Reddy's version. Yes - really!

This is a great little song, but after hearing The Dillards do it on Wheatstraw Suite, no other version can cut it

Another example of a great song that others have performed far better. Annie Lennox' version is superb.
