I read they rang an additional bell for Gordon.

I wish she'd at least have TRIED to hit the notes in this song - she's singing so flat that my ears are cringing. Not one of Mazzy Star's better efforts, IMO. No rating, because who knows? Maybe the song will hit me right one day and I'll be platinumhappy.
Ha ha ha! I understand. Apparently it hits me just right tonight; I rate it an 8 and I seem to like it right now.
When I saw this on the Smothers Brothers Show in the early 70's, I was mesmerized by the combination of sounds and sights (each painting from the Louvre flashed by during the song's playing, some of it quite fast). When it finished, all I could say was, "Wow! I want to see that again!" So much fun.

But it was the late 60's, not the 70's.
kurster, you are RIGHT AS RAIN! It was late 60's.
I just looked at a playlist of episodes and was amazed at the stars they had on that show.
George Harrison, Joan Baez, Buffalo Springfield, Cass Elliot, Harry Belafonte, Cream, Donovan, The Doors, Janis Ian, Yank Barry, Jefferson Airplane, Peter, Paul and Mary, Spanky and Our Gang, Steppenwolf, The Who, Simon and Garfunkel, Ray Charles, The Hello People and even Pete Seeger were showcased during the latter years of the show despite the advertiser-sensitive nature of their music.

I have come to appreciate a lot of things, including Eels.
I just don't think jellied eels will ever be on the list.
Have you ever caught one? I did, and it was trying to get away so badly it wrapped itself around my fishing pole and pulled so hard it popped the hook through its own head, leaving a huge gaping hole, becoming an immediately dead eel.
I have to admire your storytelling ability! Although the visual was unwanted, your prose conveyed it compellingly. I don't think I want to try fishing for eels, ever, after reading that! EEW!
This came up on the PSD button. I was intrigued to hear it because I just read the excellent biography "Days That I'll Remember" (highly recommended).
Anyway, I was really pleasantly surprised to hear this, and think it's excellent — there are some times when I won't want to hear it, but today it was very well received!
Exactly! What a fun, toe-tappin' song!

Ha! Understand exactly what you mean. How about these?
"Michelle, ma belle, son des mots qui vont tres bien ensemble, tres bien ensemble."
I enjoyed figuring out the words to both songs many moons ago; as a teen, it was a fun way to use French lessons.
Another fabulous clarinetist is Pete Fountain. I grew up listening to him thanks to my dad's eclectic music collection. Great stuff.

Hmm... Somewhat, yes. Also reminds me of Peter Gabriel (voice, especially).
