Stop playing this song : it's so good, it makes me cry... I can't understand the bad comments about this band, The National are the best band today! I think i was hearing them, 43 years before they play...
I bought this album last week, and you know what? I'm happy! A great album from The National, play more Bill, please, there are so many good song in this album.
Towne Van Zandt a few minutes ago, and "I'ts all Over Now" by Van Morrison after. Then "To Ramona". A friend of mine, Claude died this morning. He liked Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and Towne. . I hope that where he is now, he listen to Radio paradise.
40 years ago, i was 12, my brother put the needle on the record... BAM!! A flash, a light, thunder and storm, Springsteen came in my head. He's still there.
I remember when this record came out, i lived with my girlfriend in a new flat, very spacy, the winter was snowy this years, we listened to those beautiful song, watching the snow falling. Life is short! Enjoy when hapiness is here.
I used to listen to this song with my first love, we were 16. So beautiful, and now i realise, this song flow like life, you think it will never end, but finally it's already past.
45 years ago my brother came at home with this record and Ziggy, all together. I listened it for years and years. Time changed me. But bowie's voice on this song still the same : young and genious.
As man he did nothing for his country when he had the chance, his music is boring, at most, bla bla bla. Noble Prize in Literature, om(f)G. I prefer AC/DC or Metallica or else, anytime. At least those guys are true, living their lifes for music with no literature "prizes" they do not deserve. It would be like if you are a painter you can accept a title for sculpture. U.S. lost a war with an "artist" like this. Sorry if i'm not too eclectic. That would be my mistake.
In the year 3000, no one will remember from Nixon, De Gaule, Merkel, Obama and wars that they led nor why they led those. But when someone will speak about Dylan, he will say, "You know that great american singer and poet!"l
Please, speak only about music , let the world outside and don't spoil my breakfeast!
To all the folks who've been knocking the National's drummer, Brian Devendorf, well save it man. Devendorf is a hell of a drummer. Those of us who are percussionists know the real deal.
I totally agree, he is fantastic, and this band too!
I remember hitchhicking, for miles and miles, singing this great song, Thanks Iggy to have help me, under the rain, on bus station, on the toll, sleeping in the fields, walking alone along the dark roads under the starlight, singing lalalalalalala.
In 1984 I was with an adorable girlfriend, we led a bohemian life, sleeping here and there, we loved each other but our relationship was complicated. The video played very very regularly, and when my father saw it he used to laugh and said: "it's a song about ptijoc and his girlfriend" It was a long time ago, this girlfriend left or I, i don't know anymore, and my father is no more there. So I think of him and her. Time after time flies.

The tragic, the beauty and an indefinable strangeness, it's Lana singing and it's a masterpiece.
For each wrinkles on his face, a masterpiece song. Not a bad life, i think.
