Serene Dream - Kidneythieves

Nice song.
There used to be a time where every new and progressive female singer songwriter was compared with Kate Bush, kind of unfairly.
But I have to say that some of the vocal stylings here remind me of... Kate Bush. But in a good way.
Unsquare Dance - Dave Brubeck

Nice segue from Fagen's song:
"I hear you're mad about Brubeck
I like your eyes I like him too
He's an artist a pioneer
We've got to have some music on the new frontier"
New Frontier - Donald Fagen

I actually like this solo album better than most Steely Dan.
Actually, make that *all* of Steely Dan.
"IGY" should also be on the playlist...

This is only the second thing I've ever heard from James. Excellent! Of course I thought Laid was just too brilliant. I wouldn't mind hearing that here either, despite what others have already expressed.
"Laid" (the album, not just the song) is an excellent album, an unqualified recommendation.
Unfortunatelly, perusing the James catalog, both previous and later, I have not been able to find any other album that is as good, even when Brian Eno once again gives them a hand.

WOW!
I have never heard this live version before and it's amazing. :)
Any chance that's live in Athens, GA? That's my home town...I was 10 years old when he played there then. :)
Athens, Greece.
I remember a Gabriel interview where he mentioned how the song was revitalized for him with this live version. The entire POV video is pretty good, sadly not available on DVD...
