For people that don't know this band is made up of:

Neil Halstead
Rachel Goswell

Both of whom went on to form Mojave 3 (also heard on RP) and they both have solo efforts too (Neil's solo stuff is also featured on RP).

Awesome Band. They are still around in case anyone is interested. They have a new EP and are doing a small tour. Their cover of "There is a Light That Never Goes Out" is beautiful. https://www.theoceanblue.com/home.html

Has anyone seen them live? I'm seeing them at Coachella next weekend and wondered if they have an additional member who'll be playing bass. The piano/keyboard player does the bass tracks on the CD.
Yes I saw them in NY they are totally awesome!!! They do not have an extra person playing Bass. The keyboard player records the Bass track ahead of time and they play that recording along with them playing live. One of ther roadies verified this with me... Trivia - They used to have a guitarist but when he left they decided not to get another one.

Interesting, I hear a bass line that the Gorillaz borrowed.  I wonder if this is the source or if the Clash borrowed it from somewhere else too.

Maybe because Mick Jones & Paul Simonon (from the Clash) played on the current Gorillaz album and are a part of the current  tour?

Supergrass is another one of those great British bands that gets little or no recognition here in the US a la: Suede Teenage Fanclub Stereophonics Echobelly Lush Mojave 3 Belle & Sebastian Cranes Ned's Atomic Dustbin America is so close-minded and shallow. I should have been born in the UK...

This is so far the only song by her I haven't muted immediately. Mostly 'cause it sounds a little like the vastly superior Shirley Manson.

POE rocks! I don't know what you guys are complaining about?

BTW - Latest rumors are that The Stone Roses will be getting back together sometime late 2005 or 2006.

Great song! I like Slowdive but this is the first thing I've heard from Mojave 3. I'll have to pick up some of their stuff. Thanks for playing this!
Mojave 3 is very good. I had the pleasure of discovering them when they opened for Lush back in the 90's. If you think they are good on the CD then go see them live - they are amazing!!!!

Dude, now I just can't stop listening to the annoying background after your comment...Smiths...Never made the transformation to be an outstanding band, at least musically

As a teenager I worked for a local record store in a farming community in midwest... when they were still records.  I can recall hearing the first few bars of this song and it shot through me.  Loved the guitar.  I sold this album to everyone I could.  The downside is that the rest of the album and pretty much everything else from The Smiths blows chunks.

Great song though.

Interesting. And yet Meat is Murder is my favorite album of all time and was a #1 hit in England when it came out (on an independent label which was unheard of at the time).

How can you not love headmaster ritual, I Want the One I Can't Have, Well I Wonder  & Meat Is Murder?

Not sure why you are all so negative.

She has a cool voice and her own genre thing going.

Me likes!
