At 60, having run a first marathon at 55, now going into last semester of graduate school, I thank Radio Paradise for uplifting and motivating me, and in a real sense - through new music in my life - keeping me young. Have always loved organ in rock, not enough. The Band and the Doors are the best examples.
Are you kiddin' me?! I remember the early days of KROQ (the AM -only ones, no less) when the Rodney on the Roq was a dj and said, 'If there's one band you've GOT to go see, its the Flaming Groovies'. So two nights later we went to the Roxy (or maybe the Whiskey) and, well, there they were. Still haven't forgiven Rodney, and until tonight had managed to never hear the FGs again. Thanks for the flashback Bill (I think)
Alright Bill, Laurie on RP. Next time though, you have to also include the It Tango. Let X= X and It Tango are listed as a single piece on the original album, and play that way. For some strange reason, however, the cd has a gap that makes it play as two separate numbers. Without the rest, its easy to understand why some folks don't like this. It just stops, and you're left wondering — Huh?
Absolutely beautiful album. Just be sure to check your mood before listening. So much texture that can bring the pain of things missed and times lost back to the forefront . But, then again, there's times we all need to go through a bit of catharsis.
One of the first things I heard when I started listening to RP. It was like, whoa, this is really cool. Got any more stuff like this? Been with RP ever since.
Couldn't have said it better.
Lee Michaels anyone?
On the nose. This is most excellent.
