Don't Dream It's Over - Crowded House

I'm not much into "pop" per se, but this song has absolutely stood the test of time and still sounds fresh and powerful to this day. I cranked it! :nodhead:
Bitter Sweet Symphony - The Verve

Used to automatically disregard this song, but I find myself reconsidering and really enjoying it these days. In fact I find it pretty damned excellent!
Stars Die - Porcupine Tree

Great song from a phenomenal band. The new album Deadwing (which RP is playing several tracks from) is a terrific offering. Got into these guys with In Absentia and I still say it's close to my top album of the last ten years. If you like this song, you'll probably like The Sky Moves Sideways as well. Check out their website as they're doing a US tour right now!!

Sweet Dreams - Roy Buchanan

Wow, that was greatness. Never got into Buchanan but I too will remedy that situation very soon! Great, great guitar tone, really striking. Thanks for yet another great musical introduction RP!

I actually have a rare recording from the 8-track tape(!) of Animals that has a Gilmour solo connecting Pigs on the Wing Parts 1 and 2 - it is a GREAT solo.......
Actually I believe that is Snowy White (Floyd's touring backup guitarist) doing that solo on the POTW compilation. It is a great solo though! We do that version sometimes and crowds dig it. Animals is greatness!!

Don’t Follow - Alice in Chains

Oh man, how great is this!? Goosebumps every time I hear this song, which isn't too often these days. Great surprise, reminds me of my college days: livin' life full throttle, pass me down that bottle. Should I have changed? Doh! No matter, this is a great song, thanks for spinning this one! :nodhead:
I've Got Dreams to Remember - Oh Susanna

Like her voice, very smooth. However, there just aren't many people who can effectively pull off an Otis Redding tune. Thankfully there aren't many who try. Nice, just not anything special. Otis was the king, baby!!
Mellotron Scratch - Porcupine Tree

Great track from a great album. Since hearing the album in its entireity, I must say that I like it *almost* as much as In Absentia, but it's still growing on me. Really dig this song, and LOVE "Arriving Somewhere But Not Here" as well as the title track. Can't recommend these guys enough.

One - U2
Posted 19 years ago by TXAggies:
I must say, I'm not a huge U2 fan, though I do appreciate them. I'm just now getting to the point to where I can listen to them effectively again (after 7+ years), after my college roommate destroyed them for me by playing 10 different remixes of "Lemon" all freaking day. That aside, this song is absolutely beautiful and I pity the person who is not moved by the soul of this tune. Some fantastic lyrics, and this is just one of those songs that will never become old. Gotta give credit where it's due.
I love RP!

I keep missing it!! Damn, still waiting for the 4/26 release in the US of Deadwing. If you guys like this, do yourself a favor and check out In Absentia, their prior release. PT is one of the only bands I've found in the last few years that really has captured my attention. Fantastic music, play PT anytime guys!
Thanks to RP I just found this station recently and it's going nonstop at work now. Great diversity and selection. Great to be here.
