The Whisperers - The The

Matt Johnson and Danny Elfman are my musical gods. This album does take a little listening to for sinking in. But it's in now. I'm glad he's still kickin' it. I hope he never stops.
I'd give you a hug in person, dude!
GoGoMatt!

I think this song is so great because Morrissey doesn't bother to hit any notes so people like you will say "he goes about things the wrong way".
Nice use of the quote. hehehe I agree 110%

Ah, the memories. Way back in college daze. Art classes and REM blaring during studio time. What a great thing. REM rocks! (specifically the older stuff)
Great guitar, vocals, lyrics. Wow, man. It brings a nostalgic tear to my eye.

In-Between Days - The Cure

the Cure freakin' rocks, man! I was lucky enough to see them in college with OMD for openers. memories of Robert Smith with the freaky hair, mussed lipstick, in a headless bearsuit dancing (different video, but cool nonetheless)

I knew nothing about the Graduate, I couldn't make heads or tails of the lyrics (put it in your pantry with your cupcakes, Where have you gone...) but I knew I loved it. I never heard accoustic guitars sound like that. Accoustic guitars can rock? There was a lot of discovery happening.
Then after his next leave, My brother left behind Black Sabbath, Master of Reality. Another learning curve. To this day I remain bouncing from end to the other and most points in between.
This is one of my first music memories, too. The LP and mom's old hi-fi. Pops, crackles, skips. Warm fuzzy memories. One of the only things my sister and I would agree on to this day.
Years later learned how great the Graduate is.

Cuts You Up - Peter Murphy

Wouldn't It Be Good - Nik Kershaw

Wow. You mean great decade for hairspray and shiny clothes, right? Certianlly not music. Musically, the 80's was desert - a few good artists here and there, but it was the only time when someone could move from hairstylest to musician, with no discernable change in what they actually do.
You missed the 80's didn't you?
