A good cover either keeps the original intact and essentially 'does it again' well or otherwise finds a way to create new from the old. This fairly meets the first method, but the problem is that the original is just way too huge - way to big, deep, heartfelt for our pale friend to deliver. It's "OK", but for those who don't know the original recordings from Peter Tosh, you're really really missing out if you think this is all this song has to offer.

I rolled my eyes when I first heard this, but quickly came to like it. It's nice to hear a cover that takes chances instead of just "freshening up" an old track with currently popular devices.

I'm picturing urban single 30-something professional chick throwing cocktail party, serving wine from california and bites to eat prepared from a recipe in bon apetite. Make polite conversation. Ask how you got this old and boring.

I'm no good at describing songs, but I've always loved this - it's 'atmospheric'? Somewhere around a mix of Alan Parson's Project, Robbie Robertson, and being almost new agey (but somehow in a good way).

This sound reminds me oddly of an updated Crosby Stills & Nash. Nice vocal harmony.
Been thinking the same thing - CSN sound the whole way.
