I've always wondered what this album cover was about since I bought it when it first came out WAY back when. Is there any significanceto the people in it?
The hands you see actually belong to the members of the band. The booklet in the CD case opens up to reveal a much larger picture of the band with their arms raised together. I seem to have the idea that it was intended to symbolize the personal adversity that was overcome for each of them by making the album. You can find it by searching images of the Ten album cover online (or by picking up a copy for yourself).
Sounds like a beginner to me. I think my daughter figure this out on the guitar in about 5 minutes and she doesn't even play guitar.
Not impressed. This band is a little too sparse sounding to me. I know, I know, that's the point I guess, but I think they are marginal musicians at best.
Please listen to more than one of a band's songs before making such a presumptuous comment. In this one's case, I think a retraction may be in order. You may even find yourself pleasantly surprised.
A milestone. And brilliant motivation for the greatest tribute to Dylan recorded - Mr. Jones - Counting Crows.
I love time. It speaks about immortality. The two song-subjects of this post have made themselves immortal at their inception, and again by existing as mirrors across time. Wow.
PJ took a terrific song by the Who and just trashed it. This can be elimniated from the RP rotation without missing anything, for sure. It's SO offensive to the ears that I even had to head over to the receiver and turn the volume all the way down for a few minutes, until I was sure there was no more of it. Yet I stomached the earlier Simon and Garfunkel (barf), so by comparison it must mean that this PJ cover is 100%, totally, unequivocably unlistenable.
Oh well, add it as another of your "1" ratings (nearly comprising a quarter of your scores) and maybe you'll feel a bit better. The only thing unlistenable in this case are your positivist rantings.
everyone
7. Never heard/noticed it before. Like I always say, even bands you really don't like are capable of pulling a good one out once in a while.
That's why it's best not to pass judgement or hold pre-conceptions before knowing of most of that to which you're referring. And, if something related to it happens to surprise you, you can alter your opinion of the larger topic accordingly. So, maybe you do like Pearl Jam a little bit more now after hearing this piece. In any event, feel free to explore more of their (less well-known) material and see what you think.
