Did I upload this? I put this on a LOT of mix tapes. Who was at EXPO 86? (me! me! me! me!!!) I think I saw these guys at the Commodore in the 'Couv. Thanks, Bill!
I was at EXPO 86!! LOL. It's funny to see the Expo benches around various spots in Vancouver...

I had no idea people hated REM so much. I think they can be irritating, but quite like this song. People in the States are always comparing REM to the Hip, which just seems wrong...

First time I've heard this on RP. And, yup-just got the big "Kids in the Hall" flash back. these are the Daves I know, I know... Well he!!, just scrolled down to see someone's already posted the entire Daves song.
Thanks for the pick me up on this dreary work afternoon for the song and also for reassurance that I'm not crazy - the last place worked was overpopulated with Daves and all I could think of was KITH...got alot of funny looks...

Love Driving With the Brakes On! The song that is, I actually hate it when people drive with their breaks on. Picked up their greatest hits CD just based on that song and the whole things is pretty good. I also really like the tune Always The Last To Know.
Agreed. And a nice change of pace, too.

I named a plant Eddie once. Right around the same time that I used to blare this song all the time.

Sarah McLachlan does a great cover, might that have been it?
I do really like the Sarah McLachlan cover - it seems more angry and less ironic...more like what an honest, but frustrated and questioning believer might feel...?

I forgot about this song - thanks for the reminder RP!

Yeah, I do think LC is not for everyone. He admits he's a better songwriter than singer, and I appreciate him more for the latter. But the former's still fun, like here. Likeable, at least.
FYI -there are some good compilations of people covering his work. I served LC a drink in Montreal once. I proceeded to go to the kitchen to tell the first person I saw...she had never heard of him. That's when I decided I couldn't talk to her anymore...

Wilco - Beck - Gary Numan. Nice to see something that actually is eclectic...maybe (?) once in awhile we could throw in some old school rap or country *flinches* ?

This song started and I left the office to go and watch the entire star wars trilogy, I came back and this was still going. Damn.
I don't mind most of CC, including this song, really like "A Long December" and caught a pretty good live show this summer, but this comment made me LOL.
