Its hard for me to believe that this is the first time this has been played on RP. It is definitely worthy of the station and a standout cover of a much beloved Nirvana staple. Kurt and the boys would be pleased... and I wanted it go go on for a few minutes more
It was early morning. I was awake, but she wasn't. I was quietly examining her face from a few feet away and, with this track playing quietly in my head, I suddenly realised that I was deeply in love.
Soppy, eh?
Awesome, no?!! Ive had a similar experience and it is almost like coming home.. you know that you arrived warm, comfortable and safe.
The "Live @ The Fillmore" version is more raucous and is superior I think. An obviously polarizing song from a polarizing artist and I like it very much.
Totally agree with this. Studio recordings of Lucinda dont show her real talent... the first time I heard the double CD set of The Fillmore concert, I was sold on her awesome ability to perform. 'Got my mojo workin' now!'
The Hollywood Bowl live version of Astral Weeks is worth a listen. To my ears he mumbles his words on the live version - a shame - as it's otherwise musically very good. This original is gorgeous - Astral Weeks is one of my eight 'desert island disks'.
Wait... Wait.... We get '8' desert island disks!!? I always thought it was 5....
@newbolddrive - Good Lookin' out... The ending to this song and U2's 'All I want is you' are very, very similar. ... Just Sayin' Feel free to decide for yourselves.
Especially in their later albums... Spirit of Eden. OUTSTANDING work
'Astral Weeks' - I heard it 6 hours after this one right here on RP. I hadnt realized it either til I heard it - Good Job
Wow- Great song!
RP got me again, teaching me what real music is all about.
Now off to hear the rest of the album!
Excellent Music. Ive never heard of Randy Scruggs, but know Joan's music quite well. Thank you RP for adding to my music library!
As and aside... the first post on this song shows as '19Years' ago...!!! Long Live Radio Paradise

Thanks Bill!
