Yet another cloying song from the always annoying Paul Simon. Blech. What drivel.
I saw this show live. The contrast between the simon drivel and the raw talent of the africans was mesmerizing. One guy came out and played a trumpet that had such a powerful sound!! then he sang which was even more powerfull... awesome.. good memories. makes listening to this almost bearable...almost

you got that right about "dunamic range"!!! I call it too many notes.
Digging in the Dirt - Peter Gabriel

yuck... never could stand this type of music. I saw him at an ammisty international concert. he played just before Tracy Chapman. Lots of lights, lots of show, lots of noise. Tracy came out only with her guitar and made her way through the mess of equipment he had..
and totally blew him away!! It was awesome the contrast.

You see I'm stuck here in London, where he was the talk of the town about a year ago it went nuts, Elton John singing his praises, on the tv every 11 seconds..or so. He's a posh former Cavalry officer who's kind of re-invented himself as this sincere emotional guy..it just doesn't compute with me, when he threw himself off the cliff in the "Beautiful" video I hoped it was finally over..and now a new album..I'm leaving for Canada!
too funny.. i didn't understand that myself.. maybe it was the collective "wishful" thinking of his "fans"!!

No problem.. when I first heard James Blunt, nobody knew of him here. When I heard goodbye my lover, I totally feel in love with the song, the lyrics.. that's all personal. My point is, if it then gets played 300 times a day, does it make it any less likeable..
for you yes because you hate the music to start with... hehehe. I see your point.

funny the reaction to James Blunt.. does having smash hits make the music less likable? For sure, it's a pain to have a song played over and over, but when I LOVE a song, that's exactly what I do... hey if it's a great song, listen to it...
weird...

hey!! first one!!
I love this guy. I hope that he manages to keep up the quality. This song is nice.. Not as powerful as the other album however.
Goodbye my lover is by far the best song I've heard in a long time.

Hard to understand the RP listener.. I find this song has the RP feel to it. I was saying that it's cool that by listening to RP, you can weed out all the noisy, too many notes songs and just get the cream.
This is absolutely the cream from RHCP as far as I'm concerned... 9 for me!
You Picked Me - A Fine Frenzy

I love it when a young girl makes it without necessarily selling a sexy image. Another is Kaci Brown..
great stuff

This is a nice song but there are so many beautiful arabic songs that to say ohh and ah over this one is not really justified. I was married to a Morracan lady who would be able to translate the song in real time (a real talent for actually). Their poetry and use of words are really impressive.
