I was lucky enough to see Roy O in concert here in Florida just a few years before he passed away. The theatre is called, Ruth Eckert Hall in St. Petersburg and was a small, very nice place. I sat in the fourth row and was mesmerized by Roy's voice. He got a standing ovation for every song and he never missed a beat, never changed the way the songs were recorded like some musicians do live. I feel blessed to have been at his concert and am always sad every time I hear one of his songs. Roy's life apparently was filled with heartache and loss and I think if you listen hard enough, you can hear it in some of his songs.
