I saw her live a while ago.  She really blew me away, and most of what I've heard that's recorded doesn't do her justice. Her voice is just a thing of nature when you hear it live, very powerful, yet clear.  I can actually understand the people who don't like her singing, because it seems 'country', kind of like a patsy cline but crossed with Grace Slick, maybe.
