Brilliant version and brilliant work of Eric Clapton helping to organized this tribute...brave Eric Clapton who dares to speak the truth in this difficult times...

Are you talking about his "truth" that Britain belongs to white people, or the "truth" that vaccines are lethal forms of government mind control?

Here it is, the song I always have to stop what I'm doing and love. Everything about this recording is flawless, especially Gail Ann Dorsey on bass and the creepy overhead speaker in department store from outer space voiceovers.

This recording is my favorite song in all of music.

Definitely one of the best songs about fighting addiction ever written.
if you don’t know the story, David Bowie confronted him about it on tour and that was a major motivator for Trent Reznor to overcome his addictions.

I love when artists are this playful when covering a song. These guys totally own that sh*t.

This song has been growing on me in such a big way. Most of her career, it seemed like no matter what Dolores O'Riordan was singing, she never really sounded that vulnerable. Even on songs like "Empty" it was coming out swinging.

And then this, who knows if they mixed it just to yank on those heartstrings, but this is just amazing.

A 10 for me, not just because everything works flawlessly and it is endlessly relistenable, but for the devastatingly accurate lyricism of:

She says boys don't know anything

But I know what I want

Yes I want everything

Without even factoring in Clapton's disinformation campaign against COVID, this just isn't a good cover anymore compared to Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Steve Winwood, and Prince at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2004.

But also, fuck Eric Clapton for telling people to not get vaccinated.

LOL! Nice comparison :o). Here's a question for the grrlz on here: wtf is so sexy about Prince? Loads of women I've known say they wet themselves over him and that he's sex on legs, but to this str8 guy he just looks like a butt-ugly beanpole who needs a good feed. What is his attraction? Mind you, I've never figured why Russell Brand, a Prince lookalike IMO, is considered so fanciable.

I'm not a girl, but I saw Prince in concert back on his Rave u2 the Joy Fantastic Tour. The man didn't radiate sex -- he WAS sex. He was the walking, jumping, wailing, flirting, teasing, personification of sex. I've never seen anyone, and I have seen hundreds of concerts, but I've never seen anyone with the kind of stage presence he had. Everyone all the way up into the nosebleeds were right in the palm of his hand that entire time.

Also, it really, truly is a fact that sexy is 90% confidence and attitude. He was overflowing on both, though they were themselves dwarfed by his talent as a musician. RIP Purply Goodness.

Eric Clapton is a racist, xenophobic, antivaxxer piece of shit.

"Do we have any foreigners in the audience tonight? If so, please put up your hands… So where are you? Well wherever you all are, I think you should all just leave. Not just leave the hall, leave our country … I don’t want you here, in the room or in my country. Listen to me, man! I think we should send them all back. Stop Britain from becoming a black colony. Get the foreigners out. Get the wogs out. Get the coons out. Keep Britain white "- Eric Clapton, 1976

This song is how i survived my last bad breakup.

We'd better get back, because it'll be dark soon, and they mostly come at night... mostly.

Good man. All I'll say is I bumped into her at the sandwich counter at M&S in Camden in 1989 and when she looked at me and smiled (politely), I lost control of my knees.

I had front row seats to a show in Phoenix on Lover's Rock tour, and was there with my big gay boyfriend. She was alarmingly gorgeous, like verging on scary and unnatural degrees of perfection and beauty. I've never seen anyone so beautiful in real life -- she's hit a point where she no longer looks human, like we shouldn't be able to reach that. And she was just casually strolling around the stage in a white linen outfit, barefoot.

I don't think it takes away from someone's talent or artistic success to notice they are the most beautiful person you've ever seen in your life. Just don't measure their value on it. If you expected her to be a pretty girl and then hear "Pearls" or "Slave Song" you are about to be in for a very brutal experience.

Wow, that totally caught me off guard, great song!

Funny how Radiohead can sound so much *more* awesome when covered, gives you a better idea of the song. Flaming Lips have an excellent cover of "Knives Out".

On the strength of this one song, which i love, i bought the whole album. It was a mistake.

I was  floored when I saw this was Kesha, who I had always written off. I definitely gave a lot of her other stuff a listen, but agree with you. This song, however, is a wonderful 9 for me. The hopefulness and optimism is a soothing balm whenever this comes on.

So excited that her newly-released box set has a placeholder piece of foam in it for an as-yet-unannounced album. But Love Deluxe will always be my favorite recording of hers, every track perfect. Few artists have ever managed to sound as simultaneously powerful and vulnerable as Sade.

This song is the one that converted me into a Dixie Chicks fan. Damn that is one well-constructed song.

The first time I heard this song, it hit me like a b*tchslap when I caught the lyrics. Instantly popped to iTunes and downloaded everything she has released. All of my friends are huge fans.

"I was married at 13 / You were killed at 21 / On a minor battlefield"

That other life, deep underground...

I did NOT expect to hear Merry Clayton in a remix!
She’s about the most famous backup singer ever.
