The Blasters

The Blasters are an American rock band formed in 1979 in Downey, California, by brothers Phil Alvin (vocals and guitar) and Dave Alvin (guitar), with bass guitarist John Bazz and drummer Bill Bateman. Their self-described "American Music" is a blend of rockabilly, early rock and roll, punk rock, mountain music, and rhythm and blues and country.

Repeating your comment doesn't make true. The Blasters are fantastic. It's your ears that suck.
Now a middle-age shithead, I like them.
They can't have it.
That is a crime.
I love when Jack White covers…anything really. But in this case, the original is just perfect!
But the Blasters' version is NOT the original:
Rudolph "Rudy" Toombs (1914 – November 28, 1962), was an American songwriter who wrote "Teardrops from My Eyes", Ruth Brown's first number one R&B successful song. He wrote more successes for Brown, including "5-10-15 Hours", as well as "One Mint Julep" for the Clovers.
He also wrote:
"I'm Shakin'", a hit for Little Willie John, covered by the Blasters in 1981, Long John Baldry in 1996, Jack White in 2012, and Willy Moon in 2013
Maybe this crowd would take to "Marie Marie" at little easier, Bill. Authentic, bare-boned, biting R&R without over production isn't for the feint of heart.
skip, jump, slide, whatever it takes, just dance!
Huh. I also know someone whose daughter was Dave's girlfriend. And probably not the same guy, based on location. Dave must get around...
Spooky. My dad's name was Dave.....

Shitty ears.
Absolutely - and I'd add True Believers, X, John Dee Graham and John Doe to that list.
