Of playing
Playing with this bow and arrow
Gonna give my heart away
Leave it to the other girls to play
For I've been a temptress too long
Just
Give me a reason to love you
Give me a reason to be
A woman
I just wanna be a woman
From this time, unchained
We're all looking at a different picture
Through this new frame of mind
A thousand flowers could bloom
Move over, and give us some room
Yeah
Give me a reason to love you
Give me a reason to be
A woman
I just wanna be a woman
So don't you stop bein' a man
Just take a little look from our side when you can
Sow a little tenderness
No matter if you cry
Give me a reason to love you
Give me a reason to be here
A woman
It's all I wanna be is a woman
For this is the beginning of forever and ever
Its time to move over
I'm so tired, of playing
Playing with this bow and arrow
Gonna give my heart away
Leave it to the other girls to play
For I've been a temptress too long

Portishead ( PORT-iss-HED) are an English band formed in 1991 in Bristol. The band comprises Beth Gibbons (vocals), Geoff Barrow (multiple instruments, production), and Adrian Utley (guitar). Dave McDonald, an audio engineer who helped produce the band's first two albums, is sometimes regarded as the fourth member.
Portishead's debut album, Dummy (1994), fused hip-hop production with yearning vocals from Gibbons and an atmospheric, cinematic style reminiscent of spy film soundtracks. The album was met with commercial and critical acclaim, quickly becoming a landmark album in the emerging trip-hop genre. However, the band disliked being associated with the term and would consciously step away from that sound on later releases. They have released two other studio albums, Portishead (1997) and Third (2008), both of which received similar acclaim. Portishead have also released the live album Roseland NYC Live (1998).

(This is basically the long version of Stefen's reply)
That's a completely awful misread of the lyric.
She wants him to treat her as more than a thing to have, more of an equal. She wants respect, romantic affection, etc. She wants him to try looking at things from her perspective. She wants to be in love with him, she wants to settle down, but she wants him to be worthy of her attentions.
She wants him to be a man. Otherwise, she'll just be a memory, a regret,
It is also one of those tracks that bridges time, it is simply timeless. I wonder if it will still be as wonderful in 30 years hence?
