Fountains of Wayne
Fountains of Wayne was an American rock band that formed in New York City in 1995. The band included founding members Chris Collingwood, Adam Schlesinger, Jody Porter, and Brian Young. They released six albums from 1996 to 2011 before effectively disbanding in 2013. They are best known for the Grammy-nominated song "Stacy's Mom".
Schlesinger died of complications from COVID-19 on April 1, 2020, and the surviving members of Fountains of Wayne reunited to perform an online one-shot concert as a tribute to Schlesinger on April 22, 2020.

Sounds like they're ripping off TMBG. And not the good, early TMBG either, but the later, boring TMBG. Pity.
At least it will be over soon, and we can hope for something more interesting.

It hurts to see this guys dissed like this. Like most of the album, this it tight genre writing and playing. This is what the world looks like from NJ - with a fun Cars accent rather than the usual Bruce.
Then take a closer listent the lyics - this is carefully observed songwriting, even if what is being observed is a bit banal.
I guess I have the same "yuk" response to analogous stuff with a california perspective...

Ok, so they aren't re-inventing the wheel.... but it isn't that bad. We could be subjected to Puddle Of Mud or Trapped...... that would be REAL crap.
