Streets like the rest of them
But I can't forget
Faces familiar and full of regret
I hated this place
And all who came from it
Far from the scenery
Far from the road
Far from the greenery
Lifted my load
We boarded the train
To come back again
I was convinced in my mind
I was not of this kind
Faced with finality
I choose calamity
See us
Watch how this city consumes us
Watch how this city destroys us
Prices I'm happy to pay
Walking on pathways
I walked with my friends
Hearing that some of them
Have met bitter ends
How can you conceive
Your friends will be grieving for you?
Running from memories
I'll only deny
Doesn't make remedies
They still survive
I hated this place
And I have come from it
I was convinced in my mind
I was not of this kind
Faced with reality
I choose frivolity
See us
Watch how this city consumes us
Watch how this city destroys us
Cost I am happy to pay
See it coming near
See you walking close to me
Fear inside my head
Fear is never far from me
Walk you in my side
Walk you in the day we met
We will disappear
We will reappear
We can disappear
We can reappear
See us
Watch how this city consumes us
Watch how this city destroys us
Prices I'm happy to pay
But I can't forget
Faces familiar and full of regret
I hated this place
And all who came from it
Far from the scenery

The Delgados

The Delgados are a Scottish indie rock band formed in Glasgow in 1994. The band is composed of Alun Woodward (vocals, guitar), Emma Pollock (vocals, guitar), Stewart Henderson (bass guitar), and Paul Savage (drums).
Man, it's nice to hear that instead of the usual complaint of "it's overplayed"!
BTW, I agree this is a tune I'd like to hear more often.
Currently touring with Paolo Nutini and Franz Ferdinand?
Now 20170726... and from 7 to 8. :)
I came here just to see if there was a Frente! connection. Must be something to it. Lots of comments and Frente! is/was not a very well known band...
....I LOVE Frente!'s cover of New Order's Bizarre Love Triangle

Me too!
funny story how I got to these guys, few years ago when I was still into Anime (please don t start a discussion about ANime) I was watching 'Gunslinger Girl' and the opening theme was really really good, liked it alot, so I got the original soundtrack for the series, and then after getting it I saw the OP theme was called 'The Light before we land', by none other than 'the delgados' !
anyway, funny coincidence, hearing them on rp, because just yesterday I was wondering if Bill knew that band, and I highly recommend that song 'the light before we land' ...
ROCK ON BILL
Wow!! I absolutely loved The Beautiful South back in the 90's. I have not listened to them for quite a few years. I used to play them for my friends and can you believe this comment is the first indication that someone else in the world has heard of them. Seriously - I have never ever met anyone that knows the Beautiful South. I would love to hear them on RP.
they used to be played on our local NPR station all the time in the late 90s. i miss them. good call to get the Beautiful South on RP!
And all who came from it
The first two notes of this put me in mind of The Beautiful South's Old Red Eyes is Back. That's a group that I've not heard on here. Is there a way to suggest that?
