Yungchen Lhamo

Yungchen Lhamo (Tibetan: དབྱངས་ཅན་ལྷ་མོ, lhamo meaning "goddess of song") is a Tibetan singer-songwriter living in the United States. She won the ARIA Award for Best World Music Album in 1995 and was then signed by Peter Gabriel's Real World record label.
It can be fairly common in some parts of the world for people to not know when they were born. They don't place any cultural significance on it. I had a tibetan girlfriend for a bit, she had no idea what her birthday was or even which year. A lot of refugees just make up some arbitrary date when they register in India.
Or maybe, "why so xenophobic?"

This is not Rock and Roll, but I like it.
This (RP) is not Rock and Roll Paradise.
Still...this is a good atmosphere piece...I'm going with a 6 rating and maybe next time it'll fit my mood a bit better. Long Live RP!! And thanks BillG for letting me listen to something I wouldn't otherwise get to hear!
Avg. 6 rating for this? Is that the famous western "open minded" society?
If this was a song from Peter Gabriel, RP elite squad would be raving here about his never ending genius. But, it's not. It comes from a modest girl from Tibet, China. It's baaaad. Right?
Nice Job RP hypocrites.
Given any chance at all, Tibetans would argue that Tibet is NOT part of China. Occupied by China, yes. The PRC doesn't give them any opportunity to argue.
This is not Rock and Roll, but I like it.
Why would it be?
