Uh-huh. So only a hater, who has hate built into his/her genes and is therefore always going to hate, yea even the masterpieces of musical culture, could hate this song. Anyone rational and positive has to love it, right? Kinda self-centred, arncha?
Well, 'haters' like me need a special rating for songs that combine extreme tedium with extreme irritation. Or maybe scratch the ratings, just hit mute. Ah, yes, that's so much better.
The first love, is self love. We are all self centered. If you can imagine sitting in a cabana somewhere sunny, enjoying a frosty beverage, watching the birds. Really just appreciating the heat of the day and the cool of the shade.
Makes me want to spend some time in Havana.
Afro-Cubism is perfect description. Before I got to the web, I was thinking cubano, but also with the sounds of a kora. If you like this, you should check out Toumani Diabaté, kora player from Mali. I saw him and Bela Fleck in an amazing concert in Tucson a decade ago.
You Lucky Duck! I wish I had been there too!
It sounds GREAT, but it sounds more like a marimba. Wooden tines. Todd Rundgren owns & plays one! He produced Gone Daddy Gone by the Psychedelic Furs He brought his own personal marimba into the studio and played it on that tune.
Same here: it's just too long and loses it's impact.
would like to hear them on kora
I totally agree... It sucks soooooo much!! 1->sucko barfo!!
A light, pleasant ditty with some interesting rhythm happening. A 6 for me.
It's definitely in there. I would consider it a 'Jazzy' version of Guantanamera. Very subtle. On the whole I'm liking it more and more.
I hear "Twist and Shout" but can hear Hang on Sloopy too

Sounds lovely.
