Sofi Tukker

Sofi Tukker (stylized in all caps) is a musical duo based in Florida consisting of Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern. They are best known for their songs "Drinkee", "Best Friend", and "Purple Hat".

"Best Friend" was featured in a commercial during Apple's unveiling of the iPhone X, while "Drinkee" was nominated for a Grammy at the 2017 Grammy Awards. In December 2018, their album Treehouse was nominated for a Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album.

kudos to easmann for the well crafted reply. I'm rather used to just saying "tough shit, deal with it, it's BillG's station, he can play what he wants when he wants" and well you're WAY more diplomatic and factual statement just kicked ass.

that said, I rate this track an 8 (I had it at 9 for some time....still like it just not so much)

Saw them at Koko in Camden (London for you US-dwellers) the other night and they were totally stunning live. So much energy, and the crowd had such a great time. Well worth catching if you get the chance.

I think it's pretty cool that this outfit was playing with these similar sounds around the same time as Beth Orton, in "Moon"... I love the simple, moving beats, but even more, the playful style and fun they get jammed with! Really makes me think of Rachel Yamagata's "Starlight," as well, which is killer...

I think it depends which stream you're on. A recent improvement to the site shows that this track was played once in the last 30 days on the Main Mix, and six times in the last 30 days on the World Mix. (Yes, I am a web developer, and I do notice these things.)
