Apparently, according to Wikipedia, there were lots of contributions from Peter Gabriel to this album, who was also working with Daniel Lanois at the time.

Good memories.
I think this song was just ahead of the time.
If released now, it would have seen much more popularity.
. . .
god . . . it's weird that '96 was ten years ago.
not enough time in this life.

Twenty years. :)  Still going strong.

Can't do it.  I usually like Pink Floyd, but the birds are driving me bonkers.

Exactly my thoughts.

I'll be the dissenter. One of my favorite bands ever. They put on an amazing live show, though it can be a bit frustrating if you expect to sing along. Easily one of my favorite albums ever. An instant classic. 10.

Bring on the haters. {#Wink}

Oh, back when Coldplay was actually good and their songs weren't written by middle-aged Swedish men.

Grew up on this. In the 80s and 90s. LOVE old Genesis. This was their glory days.

I always remember hearing him first on Peter Gabriel's live album Secret World Live.

His voice was always so unique!

The wife and I just returned from a trip to 30A in Florida, and spent lots of time in Seaside where the Truman Show was filmed. It's a gorgeous town.

Our AirBnB had the DVD for Truman Show in it, so we watched it while we were there.

This song just reminds me of the beach now. :)

So there I was getting ready to play something from my Genesis collection, and then he stops me by playing this. Thanks, Bill.

This is the only song this guy managed to get on the radio, and it always reminds me of my youth. It doesn't get old.

Radiohead's version of this and Jeff Buckley's rendition of "Hallelujah".

Two songs that should never be covered.

It's sort of like any man who tries to sing like Barry White. You just can't do it. Give up.

The first time I heard this, I HAD to figure out who it is. It's stood the test of its short lifespan. 10.

Nice and atmospheric.  Reminds me of Sade.
