I hate to criticize any artist and hey points for trying but, this doesn't work. It's true that the original was edgy verging on grating but the sweetness still came through, wasn't that kind of the point? No need to beat us over the head with it by drowning it in syrup. I like the "thinking person's easy listening" vibe of RP but this is a little too kitsch for me. See cat power's version of Satisfaction for how to do this kind of thing the right way, IMHO.

You're not suppose to complain about this band. It's not politically correct.

Even though their music is obviously boring, monotonic, repetitive, souless, whiny, "thud and drone".   

But that's just my opinion. Ha!
